Fiera di Rimini, Restyling of Conference Spaces
A fascinating installation based on DEXON Systems' DIMAX intelligent matrix devices. The building embraces three large modular rooms, of which Sala Neri is capable of hosting up to 700 participants.
Developing the technological setup for a trade fair complex requires excellent design skills, as well as commitment and precision. The choice of devices must be accurate, as much as picking the most suitable system integrator. Each fair represents the cradle of the markets, a place of business and one of the most important moments of the year where a great amount of companies gather and where many professionals come together in one astonishing place. Between meeting rooms, conference rooms, pavilions, stands, passageways, etc., the atmosphere is remarkable and the development of efficient systems is always a must for imposing structures like this.
The success story we are going to describe takes us to Rimini, to one of the most important trade fair districts in Emilia Romagna, one of the largest in Italy in terms of area; and it is linked to another successful design that inspired this installation (described in a different case study), that of the Palacongressi di Rimini.
The trade fair complex is 189 000 square meters of useful area giving a home to 24 conference rooms. Before closely analyzing the congress halls subject to the installation, it is appropriate to provide some significant data, which elaborates the dimension we are talking about and gives an idea of the fair's capacity.
This congress center amazes us with its complex architecture, which has 189,000 m2 of usable area; a fair with 24 modular conference rooms, as well as a press room, business center, restaurants and various corners. Great amount of events are organized every year by the Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) at this location.
The development of this region, the exponential increase of exhibitors and visitors opens the way, in the second half of the nineties, to the project for the construction of a new fairground to be built north of the city. Its first stone was laid in June 1999 while the new exhibition center was then completed in 2001 in record time. Designed by the GMP of Hamburg, the new Rimini Fair, launched in 2001, covers a total area of 460,000 m²: three different entrances, 168,000 m² of useful area - 109,000 m² of gross exhibition area and 59,000 for services - divided into 16 pavilions.
Set up a room with over 700 seats, modular in 2 rooms with 300 seats each, proposing a flexible solution in line with the most advanced technical-visual standards of the moment, it is the result of an articulated and well-designed operation.
One of the main trade fair and congress operators boasts an organizational calculation of 50 events and over 200 conferences annually. "There are three large conference spaces on which the intervention was made - Srdjan Simeunovic tells us immediately - all modular. These are the Neri Room, the Diotallevi Room and the Ravezzi Room, all equipped to support high-level meetings and conferences. Each hall has been fully equipped, with integrated audio and video technologies, as required by a fair complex of this caliber. To avoid redundancy in the description of each room, we will focus only on one, the largest of the three.
DEXON 4K matrices serve as the heart of all signals coming in and going out. This DIMAX 4K matrix signals from HD cameras; multi-format connections coming from the speakers' table and from the podium; the return signals to the stage for the preview monitors; the signals from the Ravezzi and Diotallevi rooms, as well as all external signals (external video direction, Over IP, network streams). There is also a recording system composed of AV Epiphan Pearl 2 4K, which allows you to create different layouts, choose the video format of the recording and simultaneously generate the data streams for streaming. In the same way, it allows local streaming within the same network viewable via web browser, Smart TV and VLC .
